Chrono Warp
A downloadable game for Windows
Chrono Warp is my Senior Showcase Project.
Chrono Warp is a journey through the many generations of first-person shooter (FPS) games, immersing players in iconic eras of gaming history.
The game opens with a nod to the pioneers of the FPS genre, plunging players into a world like that of Doom and Wolfenstein. The retro graphics and simple gameplay evoke the essence of early 3D shooters, challenging players with the simplicity and intensity that characterized the gaming landscape of the past.
As players progress, they transition to the era of titles like 007: GoldenEye and Quake. The gameplay evolves through the graphics and mechanics, introducing more sophisticated level designs and diverse weaponry that defined the FPS generation of the late 90s.
The journey through time doesn't stop there. During the finale (Not Yet Completed), players will find themselves in a modern gaming landscape with references to franchises like Call of Duty and Shadow Warrior. The visual spectacle reaches new heights, showcasing the technological advancements that have shaped contemporary FPS experiences, from realistic graphics to dynamic gameplay.
The heart of "Chrono Warp" lies in its simplistic yet engaging story. The player, armed with the knowledge and skills acquired from different gaming eras, must prevent an evil force from disrupting the delicate fabric of the universe's timeline.
"Chrono Warp" doesn't just celebrate the evolution of FPS games; it actively involves players in the process, making them participants in the rich history of the genre. With its combination of nostalgia and innovation, this showcase project will leave players with a memorable and unique gaming experience that transcends time.
